Have you had a car accident and found that you are just not quite right?

You saw a regular physician, maybe a physical therapist, or perhaps a chiropractor and still don’t feel as if you are back to normal?

You may well not be. Tissues and cells have memory, just as your bones and joints got jarred in the accident so too did your tissues and cells. You probably experienced fear, maybe even panic. These too are also experienced in your tissues and cells.

While your physician could check that nothing was broken and your chiropractor could adjust you to make sure you are back in alignment, your tissues and cells may still be in a state of fear and panic.

This is where craniosacral therapy can help. Craniosacral therapy works on your tissues and cells and helps them to release memories that keep us from moving forward.

Want to feel better? Call now and schedule a craniosacral session. 847-512 7187

All of life’s events affect us on many levels. We know about bones and muscles getting bruised or injured. Athletes are trained that muscles have memory and therefore they need to change their routines and work muscles differently if they want to become stronger or more flexible.

Your tissues and cells have a memory too. They are affected by the physical and emotional ups and downs that we experience every day. In order to regain a normal balance we must release the memories of these tissues and cells. Your craniosacral therapist can guide your body to release these experiences and become balanced.

Temporomandibular Joint and Muscle Disorders known as TMJD affects almost 35 million people! That is more than 10% of the population.

TMJ- refers to the joints that are seated in front of your ear that allow the movement of your lower jaw bone (your mandible). It allow for up and down, side to side and forward and backwards motions. Your jaw bone is responsible for your ability to eat, swallow, speak and make facial expressions.
The most common presentation of TMJ difficulties is pain in the jaw or surrounding area. Some people also complain of:

Neck and/or shoulder pain
Migraines or chronic headaches
Jaw muscle stiffness
Limited movement or locking of the jaw
Painful clicking, popping or grating with jaw movement
A change in the way ones “bite” feels
Ringing in the ears or ear pain
Dizziness or vision problems

TMJ disorders can be difficult to diagnose and there are no standard tests that correctly diagnose all TMJ conditions

There are no TMJ treatments that are grounded in scientific research. Dental appliances can be very helpful but do not address the cause of the problem.

CranioSacral therapy believes that TMJ dysfunctions are usually secondary or tertiary to other problems in the whole person.

The problem may lie in the craniosacral, nervous, musculoskeletal, myofacscial or masticatory stystem.

These are problems that are addressed by craniosacral therapists who are trained to evaluate restrictions in the craniosacral system. Craniosacral therapy uses your body’s natural self-corrective abilities to improve your internal functioning and strengthen your ability to heal.

CranioSacral Therapy is a light touch therapy that is used to release tensions in the body. It can improve the functioning of the central nervous system and by doing so can help reduce pain and dysfunction. It can also enhance overall health and well-being.

Where there are restrictions, the body is less able to detoxify itself. CranioSacral therapy provides a gentle technique to release such restrictions; enhance the body’s ability to heal itself, and help the body attain its optimal balance at any given time.

Many people take pain for granted as part of their everyday lives – it need not be. Pain is an indication of dysfunction or imbalance. More and more people are turning to alternative therapies when traditional therapies have either not helped, or leave them taking more medications that they would like.

CranioSacral Therapy can also help people without specific complaints by enhancing their physical and emotional well being. This happens because stresses and restrictions on the craniosacral system are caused by our everyday living. CranioSacral Therapy reduces these restrictions that reduce your bodies’ performance efficiency and allows our bodies to relax and self correct.

This kind of preventative treatment can reduce healthcare costs, because we are taking a proactive approach to our health and health care needs.

CranioSacral therapy can help to alleviate a range of illness, pain and dysfunctions, including but not limited to:

Migraines and headaches
Neck and back pain
Sciatica
Injuries
Inflammations
Stress and tension-related problems
Infantile and child disorders
Motor coordination impairments
Learning disabilities
Chronic fatigue
TMJ Syndrome
Orthopedic problems
Central nervous system disorders
Emotional difficulties
Post traumatic stress disorder
